2 month pictures

Here are some pics from their 8 week 'photo shoot'. The first two are Holland and the next two are Grace.

8 Weeks old!

Grace & Holland are 8 weeks old now! Great Grandpa and Grandma Darger are back from Utah so we went to visit them.

These pictures were so funny because Grace kept licking the side of Hollands head but I never could get a picture of it.

What we've been doing...

The girls are 3 weeks old now. Grace is in the Green and Holland is wearing the Hot pink. Oh, we are so clever! Grace is doing her 'O' face.

Getting their nails painted red & pink so we can tell them apart.

We are teaching them to hold their pacifiers in because they fall out every 2 seconds.

The Grandmas. Good thing there are 2 babies.

Pictures and the story...

Here are some fun pics we took of the girls. Grace is in the pink onesie and Holland is in the white.

Here is the story for those who want to hear it. At my last appointment on Thurs the 18th my Dr. decided to induce me that Monday because one of the babies was about a pound smaller than the other. I would be 37 weeks along and it was more beneficial to get the babies out and get the little runt growing.

So I went to the hospital at 5 am Monday June 22nd. They started me on pitocin at about 6:30 and I was dialated 2 cm. I got my epidural at 10:30 and the Dr. came to check me at 1:30. He said I was barely dialated 4 cm then he broke my water and left. At 3:30 the nusre came in to check me and I was dialated 10 cm! They called the Dr. and I pushed through about 3 contractions with the nurse. When the Dr got there I pushed through 3 more contractions and out popped Grace at 3:57 pm. She had the cord wrapped around her neck 2 times but it wasn't tight and it had just happened during the delivery so she was fine. The second baby was breach so the Dr reach in and pulled her out by her feet. So Holland was born at 3:59 pm.

Brett and I went home from the hospital on Wednesday but the girls stayed a little longer to learn to eat better and gain some weight. Grace came home on Thursday and Holland came home on Friday.

After looking at the placenta the Dr guessed that they are faternal but he sent it to the lab anyway. A few days later they called and told me that the result came back and they are identical! We think they look pretty different but it's probably because Grace has a an extra pound of fat on her. They are close to the same length and head size, Holland is just a skinny little thing.

The girls are such good babies but we still aren't getting much sleep because each feeding takes twice as long with two.

The Graduate!!

Well, on May 14th Brett graduated from the ASU school of business. He has worked really hard and I am super proud of him! It was pretty good timing too because the girls are coming in about a month. Another fun thing is Brett got his braces off 2 days before so check out his great smile.

Brett put a watermelon in his shirt and I think we were about the same size. Then he took the watermelon out of his shirt and I was still fat. :(
I'm 33 weeks so only about 4 weeks left! I have an appointment on Thursday so I'll have more info about the size of the babies and how they are doing.

I just thought this picture was super cute! It's my nephew, Caleb, after we went swimming and he is hugging his doggie.

Me again, just fatter.

When I was 23 weeks along then we went on a cruise and most of the pictures are on my sisters' cameras so I was waiting till I got them to post. Well, it doesn't seem to be happening any time soon so I have moved on and if you are lucky I may post the pictures at a later date.

For now I'll just post pics of my growing belly! I am 29 weeks in these pictures. On Saturday then I will only have 7 weeks left! It's going by really fast now! Today was my last day of work. It was sad but it will be nice to get everything done that I have been putting off. Like the babies room!

I went to my doctors appt today and one of the babies is actually ahead of schedule. One is 3 lbs 10 ounces and the other is 2 lbs 12 ounces. I have been going to appts once a month but now I am going to start going every 2 weeks. I love that I get an ultrasound every time and I can see the babies moving around. Right now they are both feet down and I'm not sure what they are kicking down there but it just feels awkward and slightly painful. But I'm glad they ARE kicking.

I had my glucose tolerance test today and the girls taking my blood asked me what I was having. When I said twin girls she said, "Oh good your having two! I wasn't going to say anything but I was thinking your huge!". Thanks. Now just take my blood and let me waddle out of here.

20 Weeks

I'm 20 weeks along so technically I am more than half way because there is no way I am going to 40 weeks! The Dr said 3 weeks early is normal so we are planning on the end of June!

We are having...

We found out last week that we are having 2 GIRLS! The Dr was 100% sure about the first one. The second baby's cord was in the way but he ended the appointment saying he was 98% sure the second was a girl too. 98% seems pretty confident so we are planning on girls. Now we just have to come up with names...or at least find two that Brett can live with. Turns out he is pretty picky/indecisive and I doubt I'll get a commitment on names until after they are born.

I'm 19 weeks today and feelin' it. I'll take a good belly pic on Sunday when I actually get ready for the day.

Other happenings that I have failed to post-
On January 31st I ran the half marathon I had been training for. I started training before I got pregnant or I wouldn't have done it. I was 17 week along so it wasn't bad. I had a little belly but the sickness and throwing up was over. I ran with my sister, Alison, or she ran with me. She could have done it soooo much faster but she decided to stay with me. She also talked my dad, mom and 13 yr old brother into training and running. She is quite the motivator. Our great husbands even came out and cheered for us at the finish line.

My sister Megan got married on January 2nd to Nathan Russell, who grew up in the same ward as Brett and my sister Alison's husband, Mike. They are living in St. George now going to Dixie.

We got new couches. Remember the blue denim sectional (compliments of uncle scott & aunt kelly) from our house pics ?

We gave the blue one to Megan and Nate and found its replacement on Craig's list. It was a pretty sweet deal.

Last but not least, our peach tree is blossoming! There are even more blossoms since I took the picture last week! I have never been able to keep any plant alive so the fact that our tree is growing is an exciting event. Now we just need to wait and see if we actually get peaches. Brett claims that it is growing because of him and because he grew up on a farm. I've never see him out there taking care of the tree. We'll call it a group effort.
